South Jersey Federal Credit Union Opens Doors of Hope with donation to ReStore of Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity

Deptford, NJ -- (March 15, 2010) -- South Jersey Federal Credit Union (SJFCU) recently donated 20 full-size doors to the “ReStore” retail facility of the Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity.

The on-going renovation of the interior of SJFCU’s Deptford branch is the catalyst for the availability of the doors for SJFCU’s donation.

According to ReStore’s Greg Martin, some of the doors may be sold at the ReStore retail facility in Pitman, creating monetary proceeds for the work of the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Other doors may be used in homes being built by Habitat volunteers and prospective homeowners. “Either way, a donation like this benefits the work of Habitat for Humanity here in the county,” said Martin.

The Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity is currently building homes as part of a major subdivision of 12 single-family houses in Clayton. ReStore, which opened in 2008, accepts and sells quality donated items, with net proceeds helping GCHFH build affordable housing.

South Jersey Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Deptford, is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned and governed by its 40,000 members. SJFCU is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2010.
