SJFCU Honors Earth Day

Deptford, NJ – (April 22, 2009) – In the years since the first Earth Day celebration in April 1970, interest in all things environmental has grown tremendously.

Here at SJFCU, for example, our new Operations Center is being constructed as a green building according to LEED® standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED® certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building is environmentally responsible, energy efficient and a healthy place to work.

SJFCU has been leading up to Earth Day with a Member Appreciation Drawing in all branches, which began April 9 and runs through April 25. The winners of each branch’s drawing will receive a green canvas tote bag filled with eco-friendly items along with a filtered water pitcher with reusable water bottles.

Today, on Earth Day, SJFCU’s kicks up the activities a notch. All members visiting a branch today receive a green SJFCU Earth Day recycled-material tote bag with the special message, “Helping You to be Good to the Earth."
