New SJFCU Corporate Center Now Open,
Built to LEED Standards for "Green" Buildings

Deptford, NJ -- (October 1, 2009) -- South Jersey Federal Credit Union (SJFCU) announces the opening of its new 30,000-square-foot Corporate Center. The new facility is located directly behind the Deptford headquarters branch office on Hurffville Road.

The Corporate Center was built following benchmark guidelines of the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System. LEED®, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, is a nationally accepted benchmark for design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

In the LEED® rating system, points are awarded for achievement of environmentally sound benchmarks, in areas such as efficient use of water, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, efficient energy usage and innovation in design. The architects and builders of the SJFCU Corporate Center are aiming for LEED® Gold Certification.

The Corporate Center is

• the first structure built to LEED® guidelines in Deptford Township,
• the first credit union facility built to LEED® guidelines in New Jersey, and
• only the fourth LEED® certified project in all of Gloucester County.

The new two-story Corporate Center complements the existing Deptford branch building. The facility provides much needed expansion for SJFCU’s vital Call Center and Training Department; it doubles the Call Center capacity. The new building houses the human resources, marketing, business development, data analysis, research and audit departments and senior management offices, and also features new conference space.
