Five local students earn scholarships from
South Jersey Federal Credit Union

Deptford, NJ -- (June 2007) --- South Jersey Federal Credit Union (SJFCU) awarded scholarships to five local graduating seniors for the 2007-2008 academic year at their chosen institutions of higher education.

The recipients , their hometowns and high schools , the college/university they plan to attend , and the amount of their scholarships are:

Matthew Cortland of Marlton, Cherokee HS, Rutgers University - $1,000

Keith A. Kozak of Palmyra, Palmyra HS, The College of New Jersey - $1,000

Lori Hendrickson of Berlin, Overbrook HS, Camden County College - $500

Kristin DiJosie of Absecon, Holy Spirit HS, Ohio State University - $500

John W. Gooch II of Westville, Gateway Regional HS, Rowan University - $250

Applicants for the scholarships were selected on the basis of both subjective criteria, such as essays, and objective criteria including high school academic performance, extracurricular/community activities and teacher references.

The scholarship recipients gathered at SJFCU headquarters office in Deptford to receive their awards from Benjamin T. Griffith, SJFCU president and CEO.
